The value for money was excellent at Casa Do Joao. The room was comfortable, basic but had everything we needed for our one-night stay. The location in a charming and artistic town was perfect, with plenty of places to eat and drink. The staff, especially the lovely elderly Portuguese lady who greeted us, were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home.
Food for breakfast could have been better, but overall it was a great stay.

Authentic, family-owned guesthouse with stunning views. Friendly staff and interesting, unique building. Suitable for overnight travelers, cyclists, and hikers. Good food and early-opening cafes in the village. A charming and simple experience that provides a true remote Portuguese feel.

What a great weekend at Casa Do Joao! The place was really clean and cozy. It's in a charming village - away from the touristy areas of Algavre. The host - Virginia, and her family were so welcoming. They made us feel like part of the family. The location is perfect - close to a restaurant that has Fado every Tuesday night. We also got valuable local insights from the friendly people living there. Can't forget to mention the great price!
Totally recommend.

I had a wonderful stay here. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The location of the hotel is in a peaceful area, away from the tourist crowds, and conveniently located near a charming restaurant. Additionally, being situated on the Via Algarviana footpath was perfect for me as a hiker. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the view from my room was absolutely stunning.
Nothing, it is perfect.
